San Francisco Bound?

Hello. Welcome to the SFO with SFO unofficial BLOG. This blog was created for the purpose of connecting associates interested in moving to San Francisco with Sales Force One. This is a way to build a network, find potential room mates, share experiences in visiting San Francisco and the location of the sales center, and get to know each other. Enjoy!

  1. Thank you for setting this up, Barb!

For those who may not know me, my name is Johnathan Yau, currently one of the Sales Managers at the NW Sales Office.

Although I am not able to say I will be 100% for sure heading to "SFO with SFO" (very catchy, btw), we are considering it, and will actually be headed down to SFO this weekend just to kind of check things out, get the feel of the city, etc.

I will definitely post a new topic on how that went.

If anyone would like to contact me outside of this forum, please feel free to do so at johnathan.yau@marriott.com.

look forward to interacting with everyone on here!

  2. This is great Barb!

I am in the NW Sales Office and have decided 100% I am headed to SFO. I am flying there on 2/13 to learn more about the city, location, etc.

When I am back on 2/16 I will share the experience with everyone.

Please feel free to contact me directly at gregory.korsgard@marriott.com before my visit if you have any requests or things to look for.

  3. Hi Everyone -

My name is Johna, and my husband Greg works in the Financial district, consulting for a bank. Greg stays (being extreeeemly loyal) at a Marriott on 4th avenue. Greg wanted me to tell you that there is fabulous shopping, great food (you can find cheap food at the Westfield mall, "high end" is what he wanted me to tell you)and that it is a "mini" New York. Meaning that, unlike Seattle, there is a diverse variety of restaurants that stay open later than 9pm. There are many little restaurants that have fabulous food such as "Anchor and Hope".
BTW, San Francisco has fabulous weather - :-)

    Johna

P.S. Greg said to tell you that they have cable cars (you purchase your ticket once you get on the cable car, not before)

  4. Thank you Barb for setting this up!

I am also planning a trip down to San Fran for the weekend of Feb 13-15, 2009 and will also post a bulletin about it when I return. I can't wait to hear about Greg and Johnathan's trips!

  5. Slow to respond but I made my trip to SFO and I am ready to make the move. As soon as I learn of my move date from Seattle I will be headed back down to secure an apartment.

I looked around at some apartment complexes and found the prices to be on par with the Seattle area or slightly higher. Marina district was awesome, a little pricey.

I walked to the location of the new office. Certainly close to BART and within walking distance to shops and restaurants.

Finally, I stayed at the Moscone Marriott. An awesome hotel and the staff was great. The concierge staff was very helpful throughout the entire weekend. An associate in the lobby lounge, Judy, took time to inform me more abut the city and areas to consider, but also areas to stay away from.

I brought back some rental guides. They are in the EBC. Call me at the office, 206 444-6891, if you have any questions about the complexes I visited.

FYI - If you decide to keep a car, fuel seems to be about 5 cents higher than Seattle.

  6. Hello everyone in Seattle. I am with the Denver Marriott City Center here in Denver, and will be making the trek out west this summer with some of you guys. I will be in the Large Group/Convention Sales Team. Right now, it looks like the East Bay is where I will be thinking of living. Have about 6-8 weeks to figure it all out (WOW, really closer than we think). Any ideas from any of you all?

Looking forward to meeting you all and starting on a new Adventure.
